Show me the money!

Last night we decided that it was time for Presley to learn about saving money. I put her first piggy bank on her bedside table and told her that she needs to save her money for the bank. She walked around the house saying "Money In, Money In"! Finally before bed, her Daddy gave her a quarter to put into her bank. She was very excited!

George Bush is in the house!

Preston is 10 months old today and I can already tell that he has a bright future ahead of him (Ha-Ha). This is not the first time that I've seen his talent of impersonating President Bush, but it's the first time I've been able to catch it on camera! My cutie loves a butter cookie!

School's In!

Ryan is reading Treasure Island this week and has a reading project that he has to do next week in class. School is definitely in!

It won't be long!

Preston is trying to walk more and more each day. He can stand alone now for a few seconds before sitting and he tries to walk behind everything. It won't be long!
Presley claps and says "Yay Preston", with a little lisp, whenever he tries to walk!

Ocean Lakes!

This past weekend we went to the beach and had some fun with Grandma & Grandpa (Ryan stayed with Linda & PaPa). Presley enjoyed the beach and took a long walk with us finding sea shells. We all went to the Dixie Stampede and the kids loved it (so did the adults)! And we couldn't leave without going to the pool at the campground. The water was cold and it was raining, but as you can see below, it didn't interfere with our fun!

4th Grade!

Here's Ryan walking into the front entrance of his school on his first day of 4th grade! He's off to the purple hall to find Mrs. Deloach's class.
Daddy took his first born son to school on his first day today. In order to take this picture, he was standing in the hallway calling "Ryan, Ryan, Ryan" and naturally, Ryan wouldn't turn around for the camera. So, the teacher happened to be in the hall and saw what was happening and she said "Ryan, your teacher is asking you to turn around", and he immediately turned around and Kevin took the picture. Boy, the things you have to do when your kids think they are too big for Daddy's to take pictures!
The best part of the day was hearing that Mrs. DeLoach said, "Don't worry Mr. Dittman, we'll take good care of him". I'm thinking that was probably Kevin's hint to get out of her class!!!

We're off to school!

We had school orientation last night at Ballentine Elementary. Ryan was excited to meet his teacher and find out who was in his class. His class has a Smart Board which he was really happy about. Presley loved looking at all of the "Bears" (school mascot) around the school. Each hall is a different color for the grade levels and a matching bear is at the entrance of the halls on the wall. She found each color and told them Hi! Preston was happy to have so many people look at him and I'm pretty sure he smiled at all of them. School starts tomorrow and Presley says she's "READY"! Ryan is going to be in for a rude awakening at 7:00 in the morning. We're lucky to see him before 10:00 during the summer - the fun's over!

HOTLANTA!

Ryan begins school on Thursday of this week, so we took him to Atlanta to see the Braves play this past weekend. He was excited to have the van to himself on the way there!Finding a hotel was a little bit of a task. Seems everyone else decided to head to Atlanta for the game also! We finally found a room at the Embassy Suites not far from Turner Field. Below is Ryan trying to get comfortable (I think he succeeded) after we got into our room. Unfortunately, it was time to leave to head to the field not 5 minutes after we unpacked! Our hotel was across from the Olympic Centennial Park.
Outside of Turner Field.
We ate dinner in the 755 Club. Our window seat had a great view of the field.
It was Elvis Day at Turner Field! Before the game, Elvis parachuted onto the field. It was kind of scary!

CNN Headquarters (huge building down from our hotel).
Well, the Braves lost last night, so we decided to come back and see if they could win today. It was very hot and people were being taken from the stands on stretchers. We had seats in the shade and Ryan had to have a frozen lemonade to stay cool and watch the game! And yes, they won today!
We had a great weekend spending time with Ryan. We can't believe that he will be entering 4th grade in a few days. He's not ready for summer to be over, but I can tell he's excited about school (he wouldn't admit that)!

9 Months Check Up!

Preston had his 9 months (or should I say 9 1/2 months) check up today, so Daddy came home to watch Presley & Ryan. He did a great job with lunch as you can see from this picture!
Preston weighed 18lbs 12 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long. He's in the 25th percentile on the growth chart and the Doctor thinks he looks great. They had to stick his big toe to check for anemia and screen for lead (something everyone should have done to their babies right now with all of the China toy recalls). He didn't make a noise. I was hoping he would do that well for his shot and he did. He only had to get 1 shot today for Hepatitis B and he cried for about 3 seconds!
As you can see from these pictures, he's up and going like nothing happened.

Today is a busy day at our house. These two have found them a spot at the sliding glass door watching our new fence go up - it's better than cartoons!

Swinging is so much fun!

Late yesterday afternoon, we managed to make our way to the swing set. Presley loves her dolphin swing, especially when it's going really high!
Preston is watching Daddy run the weed eater!

A Fun Saturday at Carowinds! August 11, 2007

Grandma & Grandpa joined us at Carowinds today and we all headed off to have some fun. Grandma is sitting with Presley & Preston, while the "BOYS" try to run each other over!
Seems that everyone is out to get Ryan !
Grandpa had lots of fun trying to stay out of trouble!
Presley had a blast getting wet, and I do mean getting wet! She was soaked from head to toe. Grandpa couldn't let Preston be left out of all the fun, so in went his piggies!
And Kevin couldn't let his Mom miss out on any fun either. This is a picture of her wet after her son got behind her and pushed her through the water. I know she doesn't like to get her clothes wet, but I don't think it bothered her so much today!
Well, the sprinklers just weren't wet enough for my group. So they made their way to stand in front of the boat ride that soaks (not splashes) you.

For some reason, Grandpa followed. We were laughing while they were standing there, because we didn't know if he knew what was about to happen. He said afterwards that he knew - needless to say, they didn't complain about being hot for a long time after that.
